Middagsberget
Middagsberget (within the Stenberget nr 1 permit area) is a mesothermal shear zone related vein-style deposit with native Au (plus arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite and quartz) hosted by a diorite. It was explored by the Swedish Government (SGAB) from 1984 - 1987.
Gold forms in three sub-vertical shear zones and stockworks in the diorite host as 0.2 - 5.0m wide and 25m to 100m long structures. The gold is coarse grained, whilst lower grade gold mineralisation occurs between the structures. The drilled area to date is 400m x 150m x 50m, and mineralization is open in all directions. Mineralisation is blind and subcrops against a 10-15m thick glacial till overburden.
The deposit has been predominately drilled by sporadically sampled thin-diameter diamond drillholes. A more recent program of 22 RC holes for 1626m drilled in 1987 provided larger and more representative samples which increased the gold grade by 30% but all drillholes were drilled vertically into the vertical structures. Best results include:
BH01 4.5m @ 6.9g/t Au from 24m
BH07 16.3m @ 2.5 g/t Au from 17.7m including 8.8m @ 3.9g/t Au from 34m
BH09 24.0m @ 2.1g/t Au from 13.5m including 7.5m @ 4.2g/t Au from 27m
BH20 19.5m @ 2.4 g/t Au from 23.5m including 9.0m @ 4.0g/t Au from 34m
Based on the 22 RC drillholes an historic 50 000oz resource of 300,000t @ 1-3g/t gold was calculated in the late 1980's by the Geological Survey of Sweden. However, due to the coarse nature of the gold, inadequate assaying and inappropriate drilling techniques, the true grade remains poorly estimated.
The key opportunity at Middagsberget is to drill and sample the system appropriately, to determine the true grade and extend the mineralized zone so expanding tonnage potential.

The Middagsberget and Fäbodliden projects are joint ventures with North Atlantic Natural Resources (NAN) are ready for drill testing with large diameter RC drilling. A multi-million ounce target presents itself along the 7km untested trend between Fäbodliden, Middagsberget and Vargbäcken.
The Middagsberget project will be drill tested in 2005.
